Only a few months after starting to sell $ 90 things to anyone in the US, Spotify was launching more features for this week’s device that had to make it more useful. Among the updates is what Spotify said is one of the most requested features: additional options to the queue.
There are several ways to put more songs or podcast episodes to your ad-hoc playlist. You can tap the add icon to the queue next to the track or hold dial when you have a song highlighted. There is voice support] too, so you can say something like “Hey Spotify, the queue ‘happier than before'” or another song you want to hear. You can see the queue with voice commands or by holding the dial in the playback display now.
Also new is a way to generate a playlist based on genres, mood or activity. You can say something like “Hey Spotify, Play the Upbeat Sunday Pop” and the platform will compile a fast-personalized playlist that is in accordance with these criteria. This feature is available on all platforms with Hey Spotify support.
Elsewhere, there are more car features that must be proven useful. You will be able to see, answer, and reject incoming calls. There are also ways to play and control other media. You can switch back to Spotify control by tapping the screen, using presets or issuing voice commands. These two features are only for now. They will be available for Android later. Update for cars, which requires subscribing to premium Spotify, also launches automatically for iOS users.
